Independence Day Celebration at Boscotech, Silchar
Boscotech, Silchar, celebrated the 79th Independence Day of India with great pride and patriotic fervor on 15th August. The campus was filled with a spirit of unity, brotherhood, and devotion to the nation as staff, students, and guests gathered to honor the day of India’s freedom.
The program began with the arrival of the chief guest, Dr. Ravi Kannan R, Director of Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (CCHRC), Silchar, who was warmly welcomed by the management, staff, and students of the institute. The celebration was also graced by the presence of Br. Regy, Director of Boscotech; Fr. Jose, Principal of Don Bosco Jr. School, Silchar; Fr. Sujit Tigga, Principal of Don Bosco School, Silchar; and Br. Lumlang.
The highlight of the day was the flag hoisting ceremony, where Dr. Ravi Kannan R unfurled the Tricolour. As the flag soared high, the gathering proudly joined in singing the National Anthem, a moment that stirred patriotic emotions in everyone present.
Following the flag hoisting, the students presented a cultural program showcasing their love for the nation. The performances included patriotic songs and a skit that depicted the struggles and sacrifices of the freedom fighters who fought valiantly for India’s independence. These performances left the audience deeply moved and inspired.
In his address, Dr. Kannan R spoke about the significance of Independence Day, urging the students to be responsible citizens and contribute positively to society. He also highlighted the importance of service, compassion, and dedication in building a stronger nation.
The program concluded with a message of unity and patriotism from the institute’s leadership, encouraging the youth to uphold the values of freedom, peace, and equality. The day was not only a commemoration of India’s independence but also a reminder of the responsibility each citizen carries towards the progress of the nation.
The celebration at Boscotech was a vibrant blend of respect, remembrance, and renewed commitment to the ideals of our freedom fighters.
